Flooring Projects

Latymer Court

Allard & Co completed a large scale flooring project to the communal areas of 18 blocks of flats near Hammersmith.

The project used over 3,500 square meters of a bespoke Axminster carpet using a design chosen by the client to give an individual look. Gradus aluminium nosings were fitted to the staircases to comply with health and safety regulations.

Working closely with the managing agents for the property allowed the project to be carried out with minimal disruption to the tenants.

Battersea Residential Project

One of several domestic installations undertaken within the last six months. We were responsible for the supply and fitting of numerous floor preparations including hardboard flooring and latex screed.

A luxury 60oz Ivory carpet was traditionally fitted to a newly redecorated 3 bedroom flat within Battersea along with a Sisal natural floorcovering to the hallway, stairs and W.C.

Within the kitchen and dining area a click system laminate was fitted onto pad-felt underlay to provide a smooth subfloor and offer some sound reduction from neighbours.

Sydenham High School

Sydenham High School recently had two new sites developed to expand their performing arts departments. These included a music studio and recital room and an extension to an existing theatre with a foyer and refreshment area.

Allard & company were contracted to prepare the subfloors in all of these areas as well as supply and fit a mixture of floorcoverings from heavy contract carpet to coved vinyl within wc’s.

All staircases received Gradus Elite aluminium stairnosings which were drilled & plugged to give a secure fixing.

Chelsea Boat Club Project

Based on the banks of the Thames this contract involved the preparation of sub-floors using a primer followed by Mapei Latexplan smoothing compound.

Within the shower areas Altro Marine 2mm vinyl was fitted with an epoxy adhesive to coved skirting. The remainder of the changing rooms, office and storage room received Altro Impressionist safety vinyl and coved skirting.

Balham Project

Allard & Company has just completed a medium-scale flooring project to a new development of flats in Balham. The project involved flooring works to communal areas and to all of the 20 flats throughout the building.

The project consisted of three floors each containing four one/two bedroom apartments with a total of seven rooms per floor.

The fourth floor was reserved for two larger penthouse apartments with balconies and en-suite bathrooms.

In the common parts Heckmondwike Supacord heavy contract carpet and Gradus G11 aluminium stair nosings were used. The combination provides a very durable finish for areas that have a high traffic flow. All four floors received new carpeting from Furlong Floorings Devizes range and was selected as it provided sufficient comfort under foot combined with an attractive aesthetic appearance. All carpet was fitted to 100lb rubber underlay and smooth edge.

Hammersmith Palais

Allard & Co recently completed a full scale flooring project at the Hammersmith Palais nightclub. Supplying and fitting new carpet throughout the club and replacing the stair nosings from the ground to the first floor.

The venue is host to a variety of corporate events, prestigious music awards, live bands and club nights so a carpet that was versatile and extremely hard wearing was selected.

The scale of the works meant that a well-organised project plan had to be employed so that any inconvenience for the club was kept to a minimum.

Brewery Conference Centre

The "Brewery Conference Centre" in the City recently underwent a large refurbishment programme for which Allard & Co were contracted to install the floor coverings. The centre hosts a variety of events from fashion shows and award dinners to AGMs and product launches. Areas were large conference rooms totalling over 1700m2.

The floor covering was a bespoke carpet made by Cavalier carpets to a specific design chosen by the customer. It was made using the Axminster method of manufacturing to provide a carpet that was durable enough to handle heavy use, not only by the Brewery’s customers but from the production teams setting up conferences and events.
